Upside Learning’s CSR Activities
Upside Learning has carried out CSR activities to give employees an opportunity to contribute towards a good cause. These range from arranging blood donation camps, planting trees, fund raising and collecting essential items. We collected essential items like clothes, medicines, groceries etc. for the people affected by the floods in Maharashtra, Chennai and Kerala. Some employees even made donations to the government funds set up by the state governments.
We had arranged for a bake-sale stall to raise funds for the kin of the martyrs of the Pulwama attack.
The company made a donation of 2.44Lacs to the PM Cares fund which has been set-up by the Government of India to help fight the current crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The employees were encouraged to make donations towards the PM Cares fund or any other authorized fund and share the receipts of the same with the HR Team. Based on the total contribution receipts, the company matched the amount and contributed 2.44Lacs towards the PM Cares Fund. Despite uncertain times due to the current pandemic, it is highly appreciable of our employees to make contribution to the fund.
We formed a CSR committee in February 2020 comprising 4 members. The committee decided to support a cause that in some way is linked to our business and provide an opportunity for employees to help others directly. Therefore, the committee came up with a plan to adopt a school in rural area around Pune and with the aim to improve the conditions of the ailing school.
We plan to set aside 2% of our profits for this initiative as and resume work on this initiative once the situation improves.
